At CodifyNest, your privacy and data security are important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle, store, and protect information collected through our services.

1. Information We Collect

CodifyNest currently offers an AI-based chat feature available at chat.codifynest.com, which uses Google’s Gemini API to generate responses.

a. Anonymous Usage

Users may access the AI temporarily without signing in. In this case, no data is stored or collected by CodifyNest. Conversations are processed temporarily and discarded after session end.

b. Signed-In Usage

Users who sign in via Google or Apple using Clerk authentication will have their chat history stored securely in a MongoDB cluster hosted on Google Cloud. This allows users to revisit their previous chats and continue conversations contextually.

We do not collect or log IP addresses, device identifiers, or other personal metadata. The only information stored is:

Chat content voluntarily submitted by the user
Basic account identifiers handled securely via Clerk

If users include personal information within the chat (e.g., name, email, address), this will be stored only as part of the conversation history — CodifyNest does not extract, process, or sell this data.

2. How We Use the Information

We use stored chat history to:

Improve user experience through contextual conversations
Allow users to access their previous chats after logging in

We do not use the chat content for:

Training machine learning models
Advertising
Analytics or user profiling

3. Data Security

All stored data is encrypted and managed through trusted services:

User authentication is handled by Clerk
Chat storage is managed through MongoDB Atlas (Google Cloud-hosted)
Data is protected with access restrictions and secure infrastructure

4. User Rights

Currently, users can:

Sign in and access their previous chat history
Delete their CodifyNest account via Clerk's built-in account deletion feature

In future, users will also be able to:

Request a download of their stored chat data
Request complete deletion of their stored chat history

5. Children’s Privacy

CodifyNest is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. Users signing in through Google or Apple are subject to those platforms’ age verification standards.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Generative AI (Gemini API)
Clerk.dev for user authentication
MongoDB Atlas for data storage

These services may process user interactions as required to perform the intended functionality, and are governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Changes to this Policy

This policy will be updated as CodifyNest adds new features or services (such as additional AI models or user-facing tools). We encourage users to review this policy periodically.
